I see their stares, I feel their need,

I sell the poison, but inside I bleed.

I deal escape, yet I’m not free—

A slave, not king, lost in the sea.

The money’s cold—no joy, no grace,

I built so much, but left no trace.

This world I shaped falls bit by bit,

The mirror shows what I won’t quit.

I sell the drug that breaks their will,

I know exactly what I kill.

I’m tangled deep, there is no door,

My own worst foe on my own floor.

I want to flee this frozen game,

But chains still drag me toward the flame.

I’m prey and predator in one—

The mirror shows what can’t be done.
