Yet cold inside, not once you stayed.

A smile that burned like searing flame

Was all we ever called love’s name.

You spoke of us like solemn vow,

But strayed the path you walk by now.

Your face got lost in clouds of smoke,

And what you meant, stayed veiled, unspoke.

We clutched at shards of what was gone,

Each kiss your poison lingered on.

It slowly ate through heart and soul—

A sweetened pain I can’t control.

One final glance, a silent curse,

The truth fell like a closing verse.

I left—you stayed within your maze,

Gilded, but built of frozen haze.
